IEO, Helping Hands Mark Pakistan Independence Day
During Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations at the IEO Independent Living Centre, disability-focused organizations Inclusion and Empowerment Organization (IEO) and Helping Hands for Relief reaffirmed their partnership to promote independence, equal opportunity, and full social participation for persons with disabilities. The visit showcased IEO’s rehabilitation and skills-training services and concluded with a renewed commitment from both organizations to deepen cooperation on inclusion and empowerment.

KARACHI, Pakistan — The Inclusion and Empowerment Organization (IEO) and Helping Hands for Relief have reaffirmed their commitment to supporting persons with disabilities during a Pakistan Independence Day celebration held at the IEO Independent Living Centre.
The event brought together members of both organizations for a meeting and cake-cutting ceremony. It focused on the values of independence, equal opportunity and the full participation of persons with disabilities in society.
Ali Muhammad Pathan, Regional Director of Helping Hands for Relief, attended the programme and toured the services offered at the Independent Living Centre. During the visit, he observed the physiotherapy unit, occupational therapy activities, arts sessions, daily living skills training and the tuition programme for persons with disabilities.
Pathan praised IEO for its work in rehabilitation, education, skills training and independent living support. He said cooperation among organizations is important in expanding services and creating stronger opportunities for persons with disabilities.
He added that Helping Hands for Relief remains committed to its partnership with IEO and is ready to work closely with the organization on programmes that promote inclusion and empowerment.
IEO Founder and President Lal Muhammad Baloch welcomed the visiting delegation and reflected on the partnership between the two organizations. He said IEO and Helping Hands for Relief have worked together for the past four years to advance dignity, inclusion and independence for persons with disabilities.
Baloch thanked Helping Hands for Relief for its continued support, noting that the partnership has helped strengthen efforts aimed at improving the lives of persons with disabilities.
As part of the ceremony, IEO General Secretary Maro presented a traditional Sindhi Ajrak to Pathan. IEO Treasurer Dr. Zareena Rani also presented an Ajrak to Umair Thebo as a symbol of respect, friendship and cultural goodwill.
The leaders of both organizations agreed to deepen their cooperation and continue joint efforts to promote the rights, independence and social inclusion of persons with disabilities.
The programme ended with the cutting of an Independence Day cake and a renewed call for collective action toward building a more inclusive society.
